Five for Friday 613

Welcome to the weekend,

Here are five things I found worth sharing this week.

This was such a fun piece – from Coleridge’s questionable courting etiquette to the deadpan scribbles of Medieval writers; “Five Ways to Write in Your Books”.

You may have heard there will be a total solar eclipse over North America on 8 April. NASA artists are creating artwork to commemorate the occasion.

If you’re anything like me (or the author of this piece), you have already lived through the transition from physical media to streaming and digital options, getting rid of entire physical collections in the process. However, digital options have not lived up to the hype, with shows and books (even video games) being changed or yanked out of digital collections at the whims of copyright owners. As convenient as options are these days, the only way to truly own a piece of media is to own a physical copy. I believe we are at the beginning of a modest resurgence of physical media, but why is it so hard to find physical media?

A fascinating possibility; a “Secret Code” may have been hiding in classical compositions for two centuries.

An ode to women who walk through cities, in film, in life.

Currently reading: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

Have a great weekend.
