Five for Friday 229

Welcome to Friday,

We’re nearing the end of July. We’re in the middle of a beautiful summer.

We’re making lists and checking them off. We’re getting sun, and socially distancing, how about you?

We’ve discovered the cardinals and thrashers who live in our backyard have both had chicks. We’re bird-watching and squealing over tiny little fluffs hopping around the yard.

We’re making the most of the summer, and wish the same for you.

This weekend I’m reading:

Remembrances of the inspiring life of John Lewis, who passed away last weekend. The piece from The Guardian is well done, while this piece includes the many beautiful outpourings by noteworthy figures. If you’re unfamiliar with the civil rights legacy of Lewis, you should correct that quickly.

Meet America’s largest owner of caves.

A look at “reopened” restaurants around the world.

Beautiful images from the first state.

This sounds like a delicious experiment worth trying.

Currently Reading: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

Have the best weekend!
