Five for Friday 223

Welcome to Friday,

What a week. What a year. Things are crazy, but they’ve always been crazy. I don’t even watch the news, yet I’m finding myself needing a break from the news.

I’m going to rest this weekend, reading and baking and enjoying the stillness that comes from saying no to the din of the always new.

This is your permission to rest, too.

This weekend’s links:

Continuing to bake all things strawberry with Smitten Kitchen’s Strawberry Summer Cake.

I love discovering new-to-me classic writers.

Will movie theaters end up looking like the Apple store?

How Baseball Players Became Celebrities.

The history of gibberish.

As a bonus, a tab I kept open all week because it’s light and interesting: Maps of Life under Lockdown.

Currently Reading: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

Have a beautiful weekend.
