Five for Friday 623

Happy Friday,

Here are five things I found worth sharing this week.

Edwin Booth was a highly regarded actor, considered one of the finest to ever play the role of Hamlet. Then, his brother assassinated the president, forever overshadowing the family’s positive contributions. Read Edwin’s letter to a grieving nation.

A recently published study found that people who garden regularly had a lower instance of sleep disorders and sleep disruptions – even lower than people who exercised regularly!

On breaking the rules.

A famous Titian painting found at a London bus stop goes to auction this week.

The ‘complicated’ legacy of Margaret Cavendish highlights tension inherent in living a truly human life, as opposed to being a caricature; we all hold opinions and make choices others will applaud and abhor. This was true in the 17th-century, it’s true now; it remains true of historical figures especially as public sentiments continue to shift over time.

Currently reading: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

Have a great weekend.
