Five for Friday 549

Welcome to Friday,

Here are five things I thought worth sharing this week.

How do the most prolific people in history create so much?

A peek at Mary Shelley’s notes for Frankenstein.

W.H. Auden’s “September 1, 1939“, written upon news of the entrance of the U.S. into WWII. This poem regained popularity after 11 September 2001, and seems to make the rounds whenever the world feels crazier than usual.

Horror as a truth teller.

The history of the U.S.’s dalliance with high-speed trains. (Note to self: Always do more research than you think necessary.)

Have a creative weekend.
