Researchers have gathered more evidence that short bursts of activity carry a higher energy cost. Walking becomes more efficient the longer one stays in motion. This means that walking for two minutes versus ten minutes, for example, is going to carry a higher energy load and is good news for people who have limited mobility. You can still give your cardiovascular system a workout without necessarily needing to spend hours at one activity.
