Welcome to the weekend.
Here are five things I thought worth sharing this week.
“Why make something beautiful?”
A new permanent exhibition of Robert Caro’s archives opened at the New York Historical. The legendary writer continues to work on the fifth and final installment of his LBJ biography.
A piece by a kindred spirit; “This winter, for a month, every workday, I vowed to work outside [writing on a laptop] for at least part of the day, no matter the conditions.” While I don’t work outside, I do often read outside, as I make it a point to get outside every single day, regardless of the conditions. When it’s raining, I stay on the porch; if it’s nice out, I read in the yard or go for a walk. It’s a treat to hear from someone else who has decided to get outdoors even when the weather isn’t necessarily inviting. A daily dose of fresh air is always a good idea.
The “Curious Correspondence” between one family and a comic writing legend.
What a vivid illustration of the boring monotony of A.I. slop.
Currently reading: Thinking in Bets by Annie Duke
Have a great weekend.
