Five for Friday 628

Welcome to the weekend,

We have hit the long, steaming days of Summer. As I write from my perch in front of a fan, I’m simply happy it’s no longer raining. Here are five things I thought worth sharing this week.

Something about these three letters from Rilke is delightfully cozy.

Sometimes, when working towards deadlines and milestones, you just have to lean into whatever gets results, as illustrated by this recent study showing anger has benefits for achieving goals.

Cilantro (or coriander) is native to Europe, North Africa, and Asia. Yet, you’d be hard-pressed to find Italian dishes using the herb today. How did Italy fall out of love with cilantro?

The Fender Stratocaster turns seventy.

The man who set out to memorize the world. I like his example of (eventually) going out and experiencing the things he’d only known through a screen.

Currently reading: “Create Dangerously” by Albert Camus

Have a creative weekend.
