Five for Friday 610

Welcome to Friday,

Here is what I thought worth sharing this week.

A timely reminder from Alasdair Gray.

An excerpt from a recent book I’m excited to read, on Alan Turing, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and the “colorful medley” of mathematics.

I enjoyed this comparison: What do murders and gardens have in common?

Which the movies tarnished or popularized baby names? (With a heavy side-eye at the parents naming their girls in 1963!)

Unfortunately, the culture wars over book bans are a distraction from the very real problem that Johnny can’t read.

Currently reading: In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

Have a creative weekend.
