Five for Friday 530

Happy Friday,

This weekend I’m wrapping up my time in the former East Germany, touring the stunning city of Dresden, with its baroque palaces and the beautiful River Elbe flowing through. I’m particularly excited about this city because Dresden played a fascinating role in the rediscovery of Vivaldi’s music, as I recently wrote about.

Here are a few links for your weekend recreation:

You must master your camera. Visualize what you want to accomplish, and practice in the conditions available to you. Learn your equipment inside and out, so you can execute when the perfect moment arrives.
This does not only apply to photography.

An interesting discussion around Michelangelo’s use of male models to depict female subjects, gender norms during the Renaissance, and lots of bulging biceps depicted on virginal, otherwise feminine characters.

“Much of the world debates GMOs purely in terms of human health and the environment. In Mexico, it’s also about cuisine, culture, and heritage.”

A generic headline, but really a good, useful list of “100 Tips for a Better Life”. I use number nine daily!

I’ve read it twice and can’t stop laughing: “We can’t send email more than 500 miles.”

Have a creative weekend!
